SGD - Secure Global Desktop

.

  • Former names: 'Sun Secure Global Desktop' or 'Tarantella'.
  • Benefit: Access from outside of the institute to IMATH services.
  • Work as you would stay at the institute.
  • Requierements: IMATH account and a Webbrowser and JAVA (normally installed).
  • Features:
    • Math software.
    • Applications.
    • Access to online libraries.
  • Disadvantage
    • No local printing,
    • Files are stored in the personal home directory of the user, who logged in. If the files are needed locally, they have to be transfered via SFTP.

  • During log in, you have to accept all the self signed certificates (best is 'permanently').

  • In the screenshots shown server URL might change.

Login: Step by Step

  • Log in on one of the above URL's.
  • Accept all certificates with yes or permanent. If you accept them permanent, you won't be asked again. The next time the login process is very quick.
