Backup

Personal Computer

• There is no automatic backup configuration.

• Copy your files regular via sftp to your institutes home directory.

• You are responsible for doing this.

Institutes home directory

• Sun Ray / SGD / Windows / SSH use the institutes home directory.
• The institutes home directory will be backed up via snapshots.

• Access the snaphots under the directory ~/backup.

  • Use the Home Folder under Menu Places.

  • After a couple of minutes, all snapshots will be shown on the left side of the filemanager. At the moment, these display won't disappear until the server will be rebooted!

• The backup is read only.

• Snapshots:

  • mins_... - every 15 minutes of the last 2 hours.

  • days... - the last 60 days.

  • weeks... - the last 100 weeks.
